Tusk: Zelensky has stated Ukraine is prepared to fight for three more years
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk shared details from his recent conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with The Sunday Times.
According to Tusk, Zelensky is confident that Ukraine can withstand and continue fighting against the Russian invasion for another three years.
In his latest remarks, Tusk noted that the Ukrainian leader hopes the war will not last a decade but is prepared to fight for two to three more years.
The Polish head of government emphasized that the full-scale Russian invasion not only endangers Ukraine but also damages the Russian economy.
However, he pointed out that Russia’s internal destabilization might make Vladimir Putin more aggressive and unpredictable.
Tusk highlighted that despite the difficult situation, Ukraine has every chance of remaining an independent state, but the main concern remains the number of casualties and destroyed infrastructure.
He also stressed that Russia’s internal economic crisis gives it some advantages in the conflict with the West, as the Kremlin is prepared to fight at any cost.
Tusk further remarked that Europeans should never pressure Kyiv into territorial concessions and reaffirmed that European solidarity with Ukraine must remain unwavering in this challenging time.
