Chas Pravdy - 26 October 2025 20:35

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced significant diplomatic and military agreements achieved this week aimed at bolstering Ukraine’s defense capabilities through increased international cooperation.

Special emphasis was placed on enhancing air defense systems, including the supply of new missiles and the establishment of drone interceptor production.

Zelensky highlighted that the United Kingdom is prepared to provide Ukraine with modern weaponry and assist in manufacturing combat equipment.

He also mentioned telephone talks with the German chancellor and ongoing consultations with European countries regarding Patriot missile systems, which Ukraine plans to integrate into its defense.

Additionally, Zelensky expressed gratitude to France and the UK for their unwavering support: Paris agreed to supply Mirage fighters and additional anti-aircraft missiles, while London continues to assist Ukraine in the development of interceptor aircraft technology.

The president further noted that the PURL program has been joined by Finland and Spain, creating a more coordinated effort in purchasing American weaponry, especially Patriot missile components.

Zelensky stressed that Ukraine is building its defensive agreements based on collective strength to negotiate with Russia on equal footing.

Over the past week, he reported, the enemy launched over 1,200 attack drones and approximately 50 various missiles, most of which were ballistic.

He emphasized that combating such sophisticated threats requires a united effort among allies.

The president also celebrated the achievements of Ukrainian paratroopers, specifically the 82nd Bukovyna Brigade, which demonstrated combat success on the Pokrovsk direction against the main enemy strike group.

Zelensky pointed out that the area remains highly tense, with fierce fighting, sabotage and reconnaissance groups operating, along with logistical problems.

He urged continued efforts to inflict losses on the enemy and prevent their advance, emphasizing that unified resilience and joint actions are the key to defense.
