Rescuers successfully extinguished the aftermath of the night-time Russian attack in Kyiv
On the night of October 26, Kyiv’s emergency services completed their efforts to eliminate the consequences of a missile attack carried out by Russian forces the previous night.
According to the State Emergency Service, several fires in the Desnianskyi and Darnytskyi districts were fully extinguished — firefighters finished clearing debris and dousing structures to prevent re-ignition.
This followed reports of a nighttime attack that caused destruction and casualties in the city.Overall, the attack on October 25 resulted in the deaths of two civilians and injuries to at least 12 residents.
Infrastructure was damaged across several districts, with significant destruction observed in Darnytskyi and Desnianskyi.
Multiple sites experienced large fires, including in non-residential buildings, a kindergarten in Dnipro district, along with shattered windows and damaged vehicles in residential zones.
Emergency teams continue to work at the sites, dismantling debris and treating structures in order to prevent new fires and ensure the safety of Kyiv residents.The devastating effects of the night raid will be felt for a long time, but rescuers remain committed to minimizing the consequences of war and maintaining public safety amid ongoing challenges.
