Moscow’s Manipulations: Can Russia Influence Trump Amid Ukraine Crisis?

Chas Pravdy - 26 October 2025 03:21

Russian political and diplomatic circles are actively seeking to persuade former U.S.

President Donald Trump of the importance of supporting their interests and plans concerning Ukraine.

According to information published by The Telegraph, Washington remains a battleground for influence, which could undermine the international efforts against Russia.

Finland’s Foreign Minister urges Europe to maintain diplomatic communication with Trump, warning that losing contact risks Kremlin interference in U.S.

internal affairs once again.

Meanwhile, as a Russian special envoy arrives in Washington to counter new sanctions targeting Russian oil companies, U.S.

policymakers increasingly focus on potential development scenarios, especially regarding Trump’s susceptibility to Kremlin influence.

Stub, a former diplomat and head of a European analytical center, notes that Trump’s entourage is currently satisfied with the sanctions and Europe’s policies but warns: active engagement with the president is crucial to prevent Kremlin influence solely through his circle.

European leaders emphasize that Ukraine bears a moral and political responsibility in this confrontation, with support for Kyiv being essential for regional stability.

However, observers highlight that territorial compromises, such as those concerning Donbas, remain a warning sign, as Russia persistently demands control over certain regions in exchange for ending the war.

Given the situation, Ukrainian leaders aim to preserve the country’s territorial integrity and independence, understanding that without external diplomatic and military support, quick resolution remains unlikely.
