Massive Russian Drone Attack on Kyiv Leads to New Casualties and Destruction

Chas Pravdy - 26 October 2025 12:32

On the night of Sunday, October 26th, Kyiv once again came under a large-scale kamikaze drone attack, causing significant humanitarian and material damage.

According to the latest reports, the number of people injured has risen to 32, including five adults and two minors, all of whom were immediately hospitalized.

Tragically, the attack also claimed the lives of three individuals, among them a 19-year-old girl and her mother, marking a new tragic milestone in what is already a devastating series of events.

Kyiv’s mayor Vitali Klitschko announced on his Telegram channel that some of the injured sustained damages after drones hit residential buildings.

Specifically, in the Desnianskyi district, a Russian drone struck a nine-story building, destroying the inter-floor structures and leaving many residents without shelter.

Additionally, several apartments in a 16-story building and a kindergarten were damaged, with windows shattered in 70 individual rooms.

Emergency services battled fires for nearly a day caused by the attack.

Other districts, including Darnytskyi and Obolonskyi, also suffered damages: in Darnytskyi, a private residential sector and a car were damaged, while in Obolonskyi, a multi-story building was affected.

As of the evening of October 26th, Russian forces launched 101 UAVs across Ukraine, with air defense units destroying or suppressing 90 of them — a significant achievement demonstrating Ukraine’s resilient resistance.

This escalation underlines the tense situation around the city and Russia’s ongoing efforts to sow chaos and destruction within Ukraine’s capital.
