How the procedure for submitting transfer requests among Ukrainian military units has been modernized through the «Army+» app

In August of last year, Ukraine launched the mobile application «Army+», aimed at improving the efficiency and transparency of military administration.

Recently, a significant new feature was added to this app — allowing servicemen to submit transfer requests between the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) and the National Guard of Ukraine (NGU).

This development marks a substantial step toward digitizing military procedures and simplifying bureaucratic processes.

According to the Ministry of Defense, to apply for a transfer, personnel need to access the «Transfer of Service» section in the app, select the direction of transfer — from UAF to NGU or vice versa.

A copy of the military ID or officer’s certificate and a recommendation letter from the commanding officer of the intended unit are required.

Those seeking to move to rear positions or change their assignment based on the Military Medical Commission’s decision must provide relevant medical conclusions.

Internal personnel departments within the Ministry or the Main Directorate of the National Guard directly contact the commanding officers for approval or justified denial within 48 hours.

If no response is given in time, consent is assumed.

Once the application is approved, the transfer undergoes a check within seven days.

Rejections may occur if the serviceman is suspended from duty, missing from service, or under investigation.

After approval, the transfer is executed within 30 days, and the serviceman receives a notification with the order number through the app.

The Ministry emphasizes that this digital procedure significantly speeds up and simplifies the process of relocating military personnel, allowing better control over human resources.

The head of the Army Reserve Council, Ivan Tymocho, previously stated that students taking the military oath automatically become reservists, which enhances Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
