Ukrainian assault units successfully recapture a key village in Donbas, inflicting significant losses on Russian occupiers
Amid intense efforts to regain control over strategically vital regions of Donbas, Ukrainian assault troops and infantry units have launched a large-scale operation to liberate one of the largest villages in the area—Torske.
The village, stretching nearly nine kilometers, became the scene of fierce fighting, resulting in the Ukrainian armed forces decisively destroying around a hundred Russian invaders and capturing a considerable number of prisoners.
Reports indicate that the Russian forces entered the village with minimal supplies, hiding in basements without water or food, which significantly weakened their resistance.
Ukrainian troops divided Torske into several sectors, moving through and securing each one separately during the operation.
Footage of the operation and participant comments have been published on the official YouTube channel of the 425th Assault Regiment “Skelea.” According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) in the US, the liberation of Torske marks only one of many recent successes of the Ukrainian military in the Lyman direction, where Ukrainian forces have also advanced south of Zarichne, east of Liman.
Meanwhile, Russian sources report Ukrainian counterattacks near Drobyshev, Novoselivka, and Yampil, indicating high tension and ongoing clashes on this front.
The situation remains tense, and the battle for this strategically crucial territory continues.
