Russian Forces Strike DTEK Mine Once Again in Dnipropetrovsk Region: Nearly 500 Miners Underground Amid Ongoing Hostilities

Chas Pravdy - 25 October 2025 16:21

In a new episode of Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine, Russian forces have launched a brazen attack on the DTEK company’s mine located in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

During this assault, 496 miners were underground, representing a significant number of workers crucial to Ukraine’s energy independence.

According to official reports from DTEK, all personnel were evacuated safely and promptly to the surface, preventing any loss of life.

This marks the seventh large-scale attack by the Russian enemy on the company’s energy and coal facilities over the past two months.

Previously, in August, a worker was killed during a massive drone strike on one of DTEK’s mines, with several others wounded.

Such persistent strikes aim to disable industrial infrastructure ahead of winter.

Another alarming incident involved a drone attack on Kryvyi Rih, where 113 miners were trapped underground but were quickly rescued and brought to safety.

These attacks are part of a systematic strategy by Russian forces to destroy Ukraine’s infrastructure and undermine the country’s energy stability as winter approaches.
