Tragedy in Zhytomyr Region: grenade explosion in train results in fatalities and injuries
A serious incident occurred in the Zhytomyr region, capturing the attention of local residents and law enforcement agencies alike.
In a suburban train running between Ovruch and other towns in the region, an individual carried out a reckless act by planting a grenade, endangering all passengers’ lives.
Preliminary reports indicate that during an attempted arrest, the man detonated a grenade, leading to tragic consequences: four people died on the spot, and several others sustained injuries of varying severity.
Witnesses state that the attacker tried to take military personnel hostage during the incident, which took place on the train platform.
The police of Zhytomyr region confirmed the information, and now law enforcement, medical personnel, and other emergency services are working at the scene.
