Threatening Orders and Criminal Commands: New Evidence of Foreign Mercenaries’ Involvement in Russia’s Aggression
The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry released a revealing audio intercept, confirming the participation of foreign mercenaries in the war against Ukraine.
The recording clearly captures Colombian soldiers, part of the Russian army, giving orders to kill Ukrainian civilians, including women and children.
The intercept pertains to conversations among members of the 30th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade, which is part of the 2nd General Army of the Central Military District of Russia.
In the conversation, a field commander in Spanish orders the elimination of all civilians who could be identified as enemies—quote: ‘When there is fog and haze, so they are not identified, let them kill all who are enemies: on motorcycles, bicycles, women, and children.’ This revelation adds to the mounting evidence of mass atrocities committed by Russian troops against the peaceful population of Ukraine.
Previously, it was reported that on October 7, Ukrainian soldiers captured a 22-year-old Indian citizen who had studied in Russia and signed a contract with the Russian army after refusing to fight and surrendering during the first assault.
The Ukrainian Resistance Center also announced the active recruitment of Cuban mercenaries and other foreign fighters to participate in the war on Ukraine’s eastern front.
In December 2024, Ukrainian soldiers captured an Egyptian citizen during fighting near Toretsk.
Furthermore, on April 8, 2025, President Zelensky confirmed the detention of two Chinese nationals fighting for Russia in Donetsk region, instructing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to clarify China’s stance on this matter.
