Partial Closure of Ustylug Customs Post Due to Repair Work at Ukrainian-Polish Border

Chas Pravdy - 24 October 2025 14:24

Due to ongoing reconstruction and repair activities at the Ustylug customs checkpoint, one of Ukraine’s busiest border crossings near Poland, travelers and freight carriers are advised of temporary restrictions that will affect vehicle flow and cargo processing.

According to the State Customs Service of Ukraine, the repair work has commenced on the Ukrainian side of the post, leading to expected slowdowns in vehicle movement.

Specifically, those crossing from the Polish border via the Zosin checkpoint should prepare for potential delays or partial closures.

The Infrastructure Development and Restoration Service of Volyn oblast has scheduled a full closure of the so-called ‘red corridor’ at the Ustylug customs post from October 27 through November 1, 2025, with partial closures planned from November 3 to 8.

Drivers are urged to consider these arrangements when planning their trips and to remain flexible with alternative routes.

In cases of long waiting times, it is recommended to use alternative border crossings, such as the Dologbich-Uhryniv checkpoint, which permits vehicles up to 7.5 tons and is located approximately 45 kilometers from Ustylug on the Polish side.

This alternative offers a viable route for freight and passenger traffic in the event of prolonged delays at Ustylug.
