Zelensky open to peace talks but with firm conditions
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his stance regarding the possibility of achieving a ceasefire on the current frontlines.
According to him, such an outcome is entirely feasible if international pressure on Russia is increased to compel it to stop military actions.
The head of state emphasized that Ukraine is prepared for any dialogue format, including negotiations for both short-term and long-term ceasefires.
However, a crucial condition is to attain a fair and lasting peace to prevent future conflicts and preserve the country’s integrity.
He also stressed that Ukraine will not make territorial concessions, and Russian territorial claims remain unacceptable.
The desire for peace exists, but no territorial sacrifices from Ukraine’s side should be expected – this is one of the key messages from the president during his conversation with journalists before the European Council meeting held in Brussels.
