Ukrainian Forces Strike Strategic Targets in Russia: Oil Refinery and Ammunition Depot Damaged

Chas Pravdy - 23 October 2025 15:47

On the night of October 22-23, Ukrainian military units carried out another significant strike as part of their ongoing efforts to disrupt Russian military infrastructure.

According to the Ukrainian General Staff, these targeted attacks aimed at key strategic facilities that play a crucial role in the enemy’s war efforts.

Notably, Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) hit the Rzayan Oil Refinery, one of the largest facilities in central Russia with an annual processing capacity of over 17 million tons of oil.

Following the strike, fires and explosions were reported at the site, severely impacting its operational capacity and reducing fuel supply to Russian forces.

Additionally, Ukrainian forces targeted an ammunition depot near the settlement of Valuyki in Belgorod region.

Explosions and detonations at this location signaled the destruction of military supplies stored there.

The Ukrainian military emphasizes that these operations are part of a broad campaign aimed at damaging Russian military-industrial infrastructure, weakening enemy capabilities, and hindering their ability to sustain fighting on occupied territories.

This development follows a large-scale drone attack on several Russian regions, including the Rzayan area, where a refinery was struck.

Earlier reports indicated that the refinery, owned by the Russian state company Rosneft, had already lost half of its capacity due to previous drone assaults, further highlighting Kyiv’s ongoing efforts to impair Russian logistical and military operations.
