Trump Denies US Selling Weapons to Ukraine and Its Use for Attacks on Russia
Former U.S.
President Donald Trump strongly refutes reports circulated by the media suggesting that he authorized Ukraine to use long-range missiles against Russia.
During a joint briefing with NATO Secretary General Marco Rutte, Trump emphasized that such information is false and does not reflect U.S.
policy.
He clearly stated that the United States does not sell weapons directly to Ukraine but supplies them through NATO, which has the authority to manage this armament as it sees fit.
According to him, the U.S.
does not control what Ukraine does with these weapons, and the likelihood of American missiles being used is very low or non-existent.
Trump also pointed out the differences between his policy and that of the Biden administration, which, in his opinion, transferred a large amount of weapons and cash to Ukraine—a decision he considers a mistake.
He added that weapon sales via NATO formally remain under the alliance’s control, and NATO could decide how to utilize this weaponry.
Previously, Trump on his social media platform Truth Social denied the claims made by The Wall Street Journal, which reported a secret U.S.
decision to permit Ukraine to use missiles within Russian territory—a decision reportedly made after authority for supporting such attacks was transferred from the Secretary of Defense to NATO’s European Commander, General Alexander Grinkevich.
