Russian Ministry of Defence denies Lithuanian airspace violation by Russian aircraft

Chas Pravdy - 23 October 2025 23:19

The Russian Ministry of Defence asserts that on October 23, their Su-30 fighters conducted planned training flights over the Kaliningrad region and did not violate the airspace of any other country.

According to their information, these flights were carried out strictly in accordance with established rules for airspace use, confirming compliance with all relevant regulations.

They emphasize that the aircraft did not deviate from their assigned route nor cross into Lithuanian sovereign airspace, as verified by objective control measures.

This statement followed Lithuania’s report that two Russian aircraft from Kaliningrad entered its airspace on Thursday, raising concerns and diplomatic tensions in the region.
