Night Drone Attack in Kyiv: Destruction and Casualties
On the night of October 23, Kyiv was targeted by a new drone attack, resulting in significant destruction of residential buildings and multiple casualties.
According to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, Russian drones carried out the assault, causing burning of several high-rise buildings, damage from shrapnel, and blasts.
The most affected area was Podilsky district, where three residential buildings were set ablaze, windows in multiple structures were shattered, and over 40 windows in a local school were broken.
Vehicles in yards also caught fire, and debris fell near synagogues.
Obolonsky district was also hit — a residential building’s windows were shattered due to the blast.
Among the injured was a two-year-old child, who sustained wounds, and there were two fatalities.
Additional damage was inflicted on infrastructure objects, including a railway station in Sumy, which was struck by a UAV resulting in injuries to two railway workers.
This attack highlights the ongoing security challenges faced by Kyiv, especially ahead of the approaching colder months and winter.
