Massive Night Drone Attack: Russia Strikes Ukraine Again with Missiles and UAVs
On the night of October 22-23, Russian forces launched a large-scale attack on Ukrainian territory, employing over 130 attack drones and missiles.
According to the Ukrainian Air Forces, the enemy deployed more than 80 Shahed-type drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles from directions including Kursk, Millerovo, Shatalovo, Orel, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk—which are under Russian control—and from the occupied Crimean territories.
Ukrainian military units responded with aircraft, anti-aircraft systems, electronic warfare equipment, and drone interceptors.
As of 08:30, Ukrainian defenses had successfully shot down or suppressed 92 of the more than 130 incoming drones, with approximately 25 of them striking at 11 different locations, while debris from destroyed drones also fell in those areas.
The airspace remains active with additional unidentified UAVs, prompting Ukrainian forces to continue vigilance and adhere to safety protocols.
The attack is ongoing, and Ukrainian defenders are actively working to neutralize the threat and protect the civilian population.
