Court Allows Former ‘Motor Sich’ Executive to Post Bail in Suspension of Collaboration with Russia Case
The court officially approved the decision to allow Vyacheslav Boguslaiev, former President and CEO of ‘Motor Sich,’ to be released from detention under the condition of posting a substantial bail exceeding 908 million hryvnias.
Despite being under daily arrest prior to this, now he can leave detention facilities once this amount is paid.
At the same time, the court extended the measure of restraint until December 20, 2025.
Details regarding Boguslaiev’s health remain confidential, but it is known he is currently hospitalized and participated remotely in the hearing.
His defense team also requested the recusal of the prosecutor handling the case, which was granted by the court.
Meanwhile, authorities detained his son in Monaco, where he had been under detention since October 2022, accusing him of supplying aircraft engines to Russia for military purposes and collaborating with pro-Russian formations in Ukraine’s Donbas region.
This case attracts further attention, especially considering ‘Motor Sich’s’ alleged involvement in supplying dual-use goods to sanctioned Iranian firms and working with entities under international restrictions.
In April 2024, the Kyiv Commercial Court recovered over 14 property objects, rights to trademarks, patents, corporate shares, and over 615 million hryvnias from Boguslaiev’s assets and bank accounts, pending final judgment.
The case has been in court since October 2023.
Following his arrest, he has been held in the Lukyanivskyi detention center in Kyiv.
Media reports also mention that in November 2024, Boguslaiev experienced clinical death, further escalating concerns around his case.
