Zelensky Responds to Russian Strike on Kharkiv’s Kindergarten: Escalation of Ukraine Crisis

Chas Pravdy - 22 October 2025 12:36

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has publicly addressed the devastating consequences of a recent Russian drone attack on a kindergarten in Kharkiv.

According to him, seven people were injured, including one fatality.

Many children suffered from severe stress reactions, but all evacuated residents received necessary medical assistance.

Zelensky condemned the attack as a blatant breach of international norms and an insult to all those seeking peaceful resolution.

He emphasized that such reckless attacks, targeting vulnerable civilian sites like a children’s facility, exemplify Russia’s brazenness.

Meanwhile, Kharkiv continues to endure intense shelling, with reports indicating at least six civilians killed and eleven wounded in recent strikes.

Since the early hours, cities and regions across Ukraine have been subjected to missile and bomb attacks, further threatening the safety of civilians.

Zelensky strongly condemned Russia’s actions, stressing there is no justification for strikes against civilian infrastructure, especially children.

The escalation Saturday night, October 22, saw Russia launch a combined offensive across Ukraine, resulting in the deaths of six civilians—including two children—and widespread destruction across multiple regions, including Kyiv, Odesa, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhia, Cherkasy, and Sumy.

These events highlight the urgent need for increased defense measures and international support to protect innocent lives and restore peace.
