Ukraine’s Energy Infrastructure Under Attack Again During Night Drone and Missile Strikes
Following another nocturnal assault by Russian troops, Ukraine faces severe disruptions to its energy system, disrupting daily life and critical infrastructure functions across the country.
In Kyiv and most regions, emergency measures have been enacted — including widespread power outages aimed at stabilizing the system.
According to DTEK, under orders from the national energy company «Ukrenergo», emergency power shutdowns have been implemented in Kyiv, Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions, significantly impacting households and key facilities.
Additionally, regional authorities in Cherkasy and Kirovohrad have started implementing scheduled emergency cuts from early morning to ensure safety.
Ukraine’s Minister of Energy, Svitlana Grinchuk, confirmed early in the morning that the night was marked by continuous missile strikes aimed at destroying energy infrastructure.
She called on citizens to stay in shelters and await recovery efforts.
By 8:30 am, Ukrenergo announced that emergency blackouts were in effect in most regions due to a massive missile and drone attack.
Energy repair crews have already begun restoring power where it is safe to do so, but full recovery depends on stabilizing the energy system.
Consumers are urged to conserve electricity and follow updates from regional energy providers.
This incident marks yet another challenging chapter in Ukraine’s ongoing battle to protect its energy independence amid ongoing conflict.
