North Korea Launches Ballistic Missile Toward the Sea of Japan Ahead of Summit
North Korea has conducted yet another launch of an unidentified ballistic missile toward the Sea of Japan, raising regional tensions and attracting international concern.
According to sources from the South Korean military, the Joint Chiefs of Staff confirmed the launch but have yet to release detailed information about the missile’s type or range.This incident occurred just before the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit scheduled to take place in South Korea from October 31 to November 1.
A South Korean official emphasized that such actions by North Korea undermine regional security and necessitate a strong international response.
Previously, North Korea had conducted short-range missile tests, including ballistic missiles on May 8 and cruise missiles on May 22, 2025, further escalating regional instability.
