Kyiv Faces Consequences of Attacks: Fires from Debris and Extensive Rescue Operations
Kyiv has been severely impacted by recent nighttime attacks, causing widespread safety hazards and endangering residents.
In the Desnianskiy district, falling debris resulted in a fire in a ten-story residential building, while in the Darnytskyi district, fragments damaged a dormitory, creating significant risks to inhabitants.
Kyiv’s mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that additional debris also struck a multi-storey building in the Pecherskyi district.
Emergency services, including firefighters and rescue teams, are currently working at the scene, with details about casualties still being clarified.
Later, the mayor confirmed that the debris in the Darnytskyi district was likely from a UAV that crash-landed on a dormitory building, and he assured that all emergency operations are underway.
The night of October 22 was marked by tragedy when, as a result of this attack, two people lost their lives and another was injured.
