Former Ukrenenergo executive undergoes questioning in criminal case regarding abuse of authority

Chas Pravdy - 22 October 2025 22:32

Vladimir Kudritskyi, the former executive director of the state-owned company Ukrenergo, who was recently subject to searches and detention by the State Bureau of Investigation, has given his first testimony within a criminal proceeding.

According to Kudritskyi, he currently holds the status of a witness in the case, and his interrogation took place recently.

He mentioned that, although he is not permitted to disclose details of the investigation, his impression is that the grounds for the searches were overly exaggerated or unfounded.

The investigation concerns potential organized schemes involving inflated logging volumes and the cost of subcontracting work related to the laying of energy lines according to Ukrenergo’s orders, abuse of official position, and embezzlement of company funds.

Kudritskyi also noted that the events in question occurred in 2025, when he was no longer employed by the company, and thus he believes his witness status is justified.

During the interrogation, the questions focused on circumstances of the logging in 2025, even though he has not worked for more than a year.

He expressed confidence that there are no grounds for changing his status and that law enforcement would unlikely find reasons to charge him.

He concluded by saying that the situation is still developing, and he hopes for a fair investigation.
