U.S.

President Donald Trump, in his recent statements during a meeting with Ukrainian officials, shared his perspective on the future of military aid to Ukraine, specifically regarding the potential delivery of long-range Tomahawk missiles.

According to him, Ukraine should not expect the rapid deployment of these advanced weapon systems in the coming months.

During the meeting at the White House, Trump openly discussed with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky the differing stances on achieving peace, noting that their positions are far apart and that efforts to establish an agreement remain distant.

He admitted that overcoming the differences between Kyiv and Moscow was more challenging than he anticipated, and expressed skepticism about the war’s quick resolution.Local and international officials reported that Trump emphasized the primary goal is to end the conflict without being tied to specific territorial outcomes.

At the same time, he is confident that the U.S.

and its allies are working toward a compromise, but he refused to promise immediate military support in the form of new missile systems like the Tomahawk.

Trump highlighted that the situation has become more complex due to the difficulty in forging a unified approach and acknowledged that defeating Putin requires much more effort than previously expected.

Moreover, he noted that the return of regions such as Donbas is not a priority for the U.S., as Russia has already seized a significant part of the area and seeks a swift resolution to the conflict to avoid further costs and human losses. These statements from the U.S.

leader underscore that American policy toward Ukraine remains pragmatic and cautious, and substantial military aid, such as the deployment of Tomahawk missiles, is unlikely in the near future, which could significantly influence the course of the conflict.
