Poland Uncovers Russian Attempts at Sabotage: Arrests and Investigations into Explosions Threatening Ukraine and the EU

Chas Pravdy - 21 October 2025 12:36

Polish security forces and prosecutors are actively investigating potential sabotage acts orchestrated by Russian intelligence agencies within the country and along its borders.

Over recent months, numerous arrests have been made related to the preparation of terrorist acts involving explosive and incendiary devices intended for Ukraine and the European Union.

The national prosecutor’s office officially confirmed the commencement of investigative proceedings after the Internal Security Agency detained several suspects, who, according to investigators, attempted to send parcels with explosives to Ukraine with the goal of destabilizing the situation.

According to information, these parcels were equipped with self-igniting or detonating mechanisms designed to explode during transit, indicating well-planned actions by Russian operatives aimed at intimidating the population and destabilizing regional stability.

Several individuals have been detained, including Ukrainian citizen Danyl G., who, according to investigations, was executing tasks assigned by Russian agents.

He is currently held in Warsaw, where a court ordered his detention for three months.

In Romania, two more Ukrainians suspected of collaborating with the accused have been also detained.

This case is part of a larger Russian intelligence campaign aimed at increasing instability within Ukraine and the European Union.

Polish authorities report having detained over 55 individuals over recent months, suspected of acting in the interests of the Kremlin, including a Belarusian citizen and a Colombian man suspected of arson and sabotage.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk emphasized that the government will take rigorous measures against any attempts to destabilize the country, stressing the importance of security and stability for European safety.
