Major Expansion of ‘Contract 18-24’ Program: Opportunities for Service Across All Ukrainian Defense Units
Officials from the Ukrainian government, including Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Pavlo Palisa, announced a significant overhaul and expansion of the ‘Contract 18-24’ program.
The initiative now extends to all combat units within Ukraine’s Armed Forces, creating new opportunities for young people aged 18 to 24 to join any brigade of their choice and participate in defending the country.
It was previously limited to only a few brigades, but now the program has been scaled up to be as inclusive as possible.
According to Pavlo Palisa, this initiative will encourage more motivated youth eager to stand up for Ukraine during these challenging times.
Additionally, the program now incorporates modern approaches, including opportunities for drone operators, enhancing the country’s defense capabilities.
Preparations are also underway to extend the ‘Contract 18-24’ to other age groups, particularly for soldiers already serving and over the age of 24, thus broadening the recruitment base and strengthening national resilience in the face of ongoing aggression.
