Developments in Chernihiv Region: Drone Attacks and Human Casualties
The Chernihiv region has once again become the site of fierce attacks by Russian military forces, resulting in significant destruction and loss of life.
On Tuesday, October 21, approximately 20 kamikaze drones of the type ‘Shahed’ were launched at the city of Nova Siversk.
The city has been subjected to systematic assaults for some time, and this latest attack was no exception.
Alexander Seliverstov, head of the Nova Siversk district military administration, reported four fatalities — two men and two women — along with seven injured individuals, including a 10-year-old girl who will be transferred to the regional children’s hospital.
One of the injured is in critical condition, and medical personnel are working to save her.
The attacks caused extensive damage to the local infrastructure.
Additionally, Russian forces targeted the oil refinery, railway, and energy facilities within the region.
In Semenivka, five UAVs attacked the administrative center, damaging a government building and a vehicle belonging to service personnel.
During the night, massive hits were delivered to the energy infrastructure of Chernihiv region, leaving the city center and northern parts completely without electricity.
Repair work is currently hindered due to ongoing drone strikes, making it impossible to restore power.
The continuous attacks have severely impacted the region’s energy supply, causing disruptions to daily life and emergency services.
