Ukrainian military shoots down another reconnaissance kamikaze drone and repels Russian UAV attacks tonight
On the night of October 20, Ukrainian defenders once again demonstrated their high professionalism by destroying four Shahed-136 kamikaze drones launched by Russian occupiers targeting Ukrainian territory.
This occurred during a large-scale nocturnal attack, as the enemy intensified its aerial reconnaissance and strikes against Ukrainian infrastructure.
The official Telegram channel of the Ukrainian Naval Forces reports that our servicemen successfully eliminated enemy drones trying to breach Ukraine’s airspace.
Naval personnel, in cooperation with other defense components, continue to effectively combat the enemy on land, at sea, and in the air.
Although the exact locations of the drone downings are not specified in the report, it is known that air raid sirens sounded across all coastal regions, from Odesa to Kherson, on the night of October 20.
Around midnight, reports from Odesa indicated powerful explosions near the port of Pivdenne, confirming information about the use of ballistic weapons from Crimea and fast targets in the region.
Simultaneously, Russian drones caused a large fire at warehouses in Odesa, adding to the regional tension.
Ukrainian Air Forces informed about the appearance of hostile UAVs from the Black Sea area moving toward the Odesa region.
Local Telegram channels have published videos from the impact sites and testimonies about increased activity of Russian drones.
Currently, official details regarding the airstrikes in the Pivdenne region are being clarified, but preliminary reports suggest the use of multiple types of UAVs aimed at cities and military facilities.
Meanwhile, Russian shelling in Chernihiv region targeted energy infrastructure, leaving thousands of Ukrainians without power, further complicating the critical situation in the region.
