Chas Pravdy - 20 October 2025 15:27

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) officially confirmed the conduct of searches involving relatives of Mikhail Romanyuk, a detective at the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU).

According to representatives of the SBU, the investigative actions took place entirely within the bounds of Ukrainian law and are part of ongoing investigations into criminal activity related to illicit enrichment and money laundering.

Sources indicate that these procedures were overseen by investigators working under the guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General, conducting necessary investigative measures against several individuals, including relatives of NABU officer Romanyuk.

The SBU emphasized that all actions adhere strictly to Ukrainian legislation and added that further investigative steps are underway to uncover potential illegal schemes.

The events unfolded on Monday, when law enforcement started raids aimed at establishing possible involvement of the detective’s relatives in high-profile criminal activities with public resonance.

Previously, NABU reported that the searches targeted Romanyuk’s relatives and were part of broader efforts to address corruption and legal violations in Ukraine.

This situation has sparked widespread public discussion about transparency and anti-corruption efforts among top officials.
