Russian Attacks on Chernihiv Energy Infrastructure Leave Over Two Thousand People Without Power

Chas Pravdy - 20 October 2025 02:16

Once again, the Chernihiv region faces a severe strike on its energy infrastructure carried out by Russian forces.

This time, the attack targeted facilities in the Nizhyn district, resulting in power outages for more than 2,700 subscribers.

According to the local energy company, ‘Chernihivoblenergo,’ the damage caused by the missile strikes has been incredibly extensive, complicating the efforts to restore power.

Electric utility workers have been working tirelessly since the evening to repair the damage and restore electricity to affected residents as quickly as possible.

Just before this incident, on Sunday evening, Russian troops targeted energy facilities in the Korukivsky district, leaving approximately 55,000 residents without electricity.

These attacks exemplify the relentless assault on Ukrainian infrastructure and civilian life in the ongoing war, showcasing Russia’s attempt to break Ukraine’s resilience and weaken its defensive capabilities.
