Chernihiv Region and Slavutych Left Without Power Due to New Enemy Attacks: Critical Infrastructure Under Threat

Chas Pravdy - 20 October 2025 23:35

Chernihiv region and the city of Slavutych have been without electricity for several days following systematic attacks by Russian occupying forces on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure facilities.

The enemy has intensified their offensive, launching massive missile and drone strikes on regional energy objects, leading to widespread power outages in many settlements.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Energy confirmed that multiple energy facilities and critical infrastructure, including water utilities and heating systems, have been damaged.

The Chernihiv district administration reported that a drone strike damaged a critical infrastructure object, causing extensive power outages across the region.

As a result of these damages, water supply and heating services have been temporarily disrupted in several communities, creating additional difficulties for local residents.

Utility services are working to restore the damaged systems, but the process is complicated by repeated attacks.

Meanwhile, in Slavutych, located in Kyiv region, another strike has affected energy facilities.

Mayor Yurii Fomichev stated that emergency crews are already engaged in rapid restoration efforts, and the city’s water utility has switched to backup power sources to ensure continuous drinking water supply.

Heating for schools, kindergartens, and hospitals continues to operate normally, but the situation remains tense as the enemy does not cease its attacks on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.

Experts continue working on eliminating the consequences of these strikes and restoring normal life in the region.
