Ukrainian FPV Drone Strikes Russian ‘Sonecypok’ Multiple Launch Rocket System
In combat conditions, Ukrainian military successfully employed a modern unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to target and damage a Russian heavy missile launcher system called ‘Sonecypok’.
Operators from the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Volodymyr Monomakh detected and attacked the Russian installation as it was deploying at its position, occupied by Russian forces.
According to the Ukrainian Ground Forces, the Russians tried to escape on this equipment, but the Ukrainian FPV drone caught up with them and delivered a precise strike.
As a result, Ukrainian defenders inflicted significant damage on the system, exerting additional pressure on the enemy in the region. The General Staff of Ukraine reported successes on the Pokrovske direction, indicating that Ukrainian forces destroyed a ‘Smerch’ missile system that previously struck settlements in Kherson and Mykolaiv regions.
Military officials highlighted that the drone hit and damaged the system, demonstrating the high effectiveness of UAVs in modern combat scenarios.
This underscores the growing capabilities of the Ukrainian army in countering Russian equipment and reducing its ability to strike civilian infrastructure.
