Ukrainian Drones Strike Russian Industrial Targets in Samara and Orenburg Regions

Chas Pravdy - 19 October 2025 14:23

On the night of October 18 to 19, Ukrainian military drones targeted strategic facilities within Russia, resulting in large-scale fires and disruptions at key industrial sites.

According to the Ukrainian General Staff, these attacks destroyed the Novokuibyshevsk Oil Refinery in the Samara Region and the Orenburg Gas Processing Plant, marking significant strikes by Ukrainian defense forces.

Local authorities confirmed that a fire broke out at the refinery site, with reports indicating damage to the primary oil processing units.

Similarly, the gas processing plant in Orenburg experienced a large fire, apparently involving damage to one of the gas treatment and processing units.

Additionally, there were reports of explosions and a fire at a fuel and lubricants depot in the temporarily occupied Berdiansk, raising further concerns.

Sources indicate that the attack also targeted military stockpiles, causing substantial losses for the occupation administration.

It is noteworthy that the Novokuibyshevsk Refinery processes nearly 5 million tons of oil annually and produces over 20 types of commercial products, while the Orenburg GPP is one of Russia’s largest, capable of processing up to 45 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year.

This highlights Ukraine’s growing capability to execute precise and strategic strikes on facilities of critical importance for Russia amid ongoing conflict.
