President Donald Trump made a provocative statement regarding the potential outlook of the Ukraine conflict.
According to his assessment, Vladimir Putin is likely to seize some Ukrainian territories as a result of the ongoing war, given that Russia has already occupied significant lands.
Trump expressed the view that the Russian leader will aim to consolidate his gains, especially since he currently controls parts of several regions, including segments of Donbas.
In an interview with Fox News, Trump emphasized that the United States traditionally fights, wins, and then leaves the battlefield swiftly, citing the example of Iraq under President George Bush.
He highlighted that the U.S.
approach has been to engage in combat, secure victory, and exit, which he considers the proper strategy for the Ukraine war.
Additionally, Trump pointed out that during his presidency he spoke about controlling oil resources and avoiding large-scale military interventions.
Meanwhile, Putin, in a phone call with Trump, demanded that Kyiv cede full control of Donetsk region to Russia, offering in exchange concessions on Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions, which Russia partially controls.
These negotiations were reported by media, but no official agreements were signed.
