Russian Attacks on Kherson and Surrounding Areas: Casualties and Destruction
On Sunday, October 19, Ukrainian territories once again experienced the devastating consequences of military actions caused by Russian aggression.
The enemy launched missile and artillery strikes on the city of Kherson and two nearby villages in Kherson Oblast.
The most affected was Tomyna Balka in Bilozerka community, where a 67-year-old local woman sustained serious injuries to her arm and torso, along with mine-explosive trauma, concussion, and a finger fracture.
She was urgently hospitalized, according to the regional military administration.
Additionally, reports indicate that Russian forces targeted residential areas of Kherson, including the Dnipro district, damaging walls, shattering windows, and destroying stairs within an educational facility that was hit.
Head of Kherson VA Oleksandr Prokudin emphasized that as a result of the shelling of Kozatske settlement, a 71-year-old man was killed on site from injuries sustained.
Several days prior, the aggressors also attacked cargo trucks belonging to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Bilozerka community.
Humanitarian coordinator in Ukraine, Matthias Schmale, condemned this attack and highlighted the need to enhance the protection of civilian populations.
