Russian Attack on DTEK Mine: Over 190 People Trapped Underground in Dnipropetrovsk Region

Amid ongoing Russian military aggression in Ukraine, a major incident occurred in the Dnipropetrovsk region, raising concerns among local residents and rescue services.

An attack on a mine operated by Ukraine’s leading energy company, DTEK, left nearly 200 workers underground.

This emergency was confirmed by the company’s press service, which reported that at the time of the attack, 192 employees were underground, with 8 already rescued and in stable condition.

Rescue operations are actively ongoing to evacuate the remaining workers still trapped below the surface.

According to local media, some of those yet to be evacuated are seriously injured, and the number of casualties is rising.

This incident marks the fourth large-scale attack on DTEK’s coal facilities over the past two months, raising serious concerns regarding the safety and stability of the regional energy sector amidst ongoing hostilities.
