Audacious Louvre Robbery: Criminals Steal Priceless Art in Record Time
In the heart of Paris, at one of the most renowned museums in the world—the Louvre—a shocking crime has taken place, sending ripples through the global cultural community.
Criminals successfully carried out a daring heist that lasted only seven minutes, during which they managed to seize valuable exhibits and escape right before the eyes of visitors and staff.
Preliminary reports indicate that near the museum’s entrance, law enforcement found one of the precious jewelry pieces, believed to have been stolen earlier, confirming the attack.
French Culture Minister Rashida Dati, in a live broadcast on TF1, stated that jewels worth an “immeasurable amount” were stolen from the Louvre, and authorities are currently assessing the extent of damages and identifying the stolen items.
She added that during the escape, the perpetrators left behind a jewelry piece, possibly a crown, which, according to media and French officials, was damaged and perhaps lost during their rapid getaway.
French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez confirmed that this high-profile incident was executed in just seven minutes.
Reports from the scene corroborate that the assault occurred on Sunday, October 19, and the perpetrators’ swift action allowed them to avoid arrest and leave behind evidence of one of the fastest thefts in the museum’s history.
