Apocalyptic scenery around Pokrovsk: fields covered with fiber optic cables from FPV drones

Chas Pravdy - 19 October 2025 23:25

The area near Pokrovsk has recently transformed into what could only be described as an apocalyptic landscape.

Surrounding the city, vast fields and plantations are crisscrossed with thousands of fiber-optic cables deployed by both Ukrainian defenders and Russian invaders.

These cables are visible in social media footage shared by drone operators from the ‘Gostri Kartuzi’ unit.

The videos show shimmering lines stretching to the horizon, resembling a spiderweb spreading over the landscape.

Witnesses report that this extensive installation appears to be part of an active tactical effort by both sides to conduct reconnaissance and sabotage operations.

The scenes depict a cinematic array of destroyed equipment, burned-out civilian cars, and sprawling emptiness, creating a haunting image of a war-torn zone.

Ukrainian defenders describe the scene as resembling a mapped chaos, intended to confuse and disrupt enemy movements.

Notably, near the city, wrecked machinery lies abandoned amidst the tangled forest of cables, emphasizing the strategic importance of this interference.

Meanwhile, in other sectors like Dobropillia, Russian forces continue to suffer heavy losses, with fields around the town strewn with fallen soldiers, some already scavenged by stray dogs.

The overall picture confirms that the front remains volatile and deadly, turning the environment into a battleground of destruction and strategic deception.
