Unyielding Resistance: Russian Forces Continue Ruthless Attacks on the Oleksandrivka Sector, Destroying Dozens of Comrades and Employing Deadly Drone Tactics
In eastern Ukraine, the situation along the Oleksandrivka front remains tense and perilous for Ukrainian defenders.
Despite heavy losses, Russian troops continue relentless assaults around the clock, employing tactics that have become their hallmark — advancing with the support of reconnaissance drones that mark the way, although often at the cost of numerous casualties in the Ukrainian fire.
This situation was reported by Yuriy Sirotyuk, a key sergeant in the fire support company of the 5th Assault Brigade.
According to him, the enemy launched their offensive in early summer and has since suffered significant losses, partly due to the challenging terrain of the open steppe that prevents them from hiding or secretly consolidating forces.
Ukrainian soldiers carefully monitor their movements and effectively strike back at Russian positions.
Despite their efforts, daily assaults continue, and the situation remains highly tense.
Sirotyuk pointed out that Russian forces attempt to penetrate every planting and sometimes even cross the front line to raise their flags in captured settlements, only to be swiftly eliminated by Ukrainian fire.
Occasionally, they utilize civilian transport, but mostly operate in small groups — one or two soldiers trying to infiltrate the rear.
Notably, amidst foggy conditions, the enemy has boldly attempted to breach Ukrainian positions using civilian cars in nearby villages, but these attempts are quickly thwarted.
The core tactic remains unchanged: they move forward guided by drones.
Sirotyuk added that on the Lyman front, a new trend has emerged — drone warfare, with the enemy attacking logistical routes and deploying ground robotic systems capable of striking deep into Ukrainian territory.
The motivation of Russian assault troops remains unclear, as they perish in large numbers but continue their attacks.
Ukrainian military experts note that soldiers see little motivation in such relentless fighting — they are simply obeying orders, with little regard for their lives.
Earlier, the deputy commander of the Third Army Corps, Maxim Zhorin, reported that the situation in the Kupiansk sector is worsening for Ukrainian forces, as Russian drones are now capable of reaching depths of up to 50 kilometers into Ukrainian territory, striking not only military positions but also residential buildings, further complicating the battlefield.
