Russian Drones Attack Poltava Region: Damage and Fire at Civil Facility
In the night of October 17-18, Russian forces launched a new assault on the Poltava region, utilizing combat drones to strike civilian and industrial targets.
According to Volodymyr Kogut, head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, Ukrainian air defenses successfully intercepted most of the enemy’s drones; however, debris from some UAVs fell onto residential and commercial areas.
One of the debris strikes damaged a warehouse belonging to a private enterprise, igniting a significant fire.
Fortunately, rescue teams responded swiftly, preventing the fire from spreading further.
No casualties or injuries have been reported among civilians or personnel.
This incident exemplifies ongoing attempts by the aggressor to target Ukrainian infrastructure, yet Ukraine’s air defense remains effective in countering these threats.
