Mass Drone Attacks by Russia Cause Widespread Power Outages and Infrastructure Damage in Chuhuiv
On the night of Saturday, October 18, the city of Chuhuiv in the Kharkiv region became the target of a large-scale attack by Russian forces, who employed kamikaze drones to strike the city.
According to the city mayor, Halyna Minaeva, the Russians made over ten strikes across various neighborhoods, resulting in a complete blackout for the city.
Power engineers are currently working to restore electricity, but this requires inspecting the sites of the explosions by bomb disposal experts.
Fortunately, no casualties or injuries have been reported as a result of the attack.This nighttime assault marks yet another blow to Chuhuiv’s infrastructure, highlighting the ongoing danger and complexity of the situation for local civilians.

Ukrainian air defenses intercepted and destroyed 136 kamikaze drones such as ‘Shahed’ and ‘Gerbera’ launched from hostile territories.
The Zaporizhzhia region also suffered an attack — a fire broke out in an administrative building, infrastructure was damaged, and a car was burned.
Emergency services are working to mitigate the consequences and ensure residents’ safety amid this ongoing warfare.
