Zelensky Responds to Massive Russian Attack on Kryvyi Rih: Systematic Terror and the Need to Strengthen Air Defense

Chas Pravdy - 17 October 2025 03:39

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking from Washington, delivered a stern critique regarding the recent Russian strikes on the Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih.

According to him, the night wave of drone attacks vividly confirms the systematic terror Russia is waging against Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

Zelensky emphasized that such actions align with tactics aimed at destroying critical civilian infrastructure to intimidate the populace and destabilize the country.

In his statement, he called on international partners to intensify efforts to bolster Ukraine’s air defenses, specifically, to provide additional means to counter drones and missiles.

The head of state stressed that stable security can only be achievable if Russia’s aggression is halted and all agreements, especially those reached in Washington during the upcoming meeting with the U.S.

President, are implemented.

Zelensky reiterated that the Kremlin continues its policy of terror, seeking to turn Ukrainian territories into islands of danger and suffering.

He also condemned Russian President Vladimir Putin’s statements about readiness for peace, asserting that the only real proof of intent to end the war lies in the actual cessation of attacks and killings.

According to him, Ukraine depends heavily on modern air defense systems, with each additional system increasing the chances of ending the war and restoring peace.

Zelensky highlighted the importance of implementing arrangements with allies, particularly in Washington, where discussions include the potential provision of long-range missile systems, such as the Tomahawk.

This is a crucial step in fighting against Russian aggression and ensuring the security of the Ukrainian people.
