Zelensky Responds to Heavy Drone and Missile Strikes on Kryvyi Rih: Key Conclusions and Implications

Chas Pravdy - 17 October 2025 04:44

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky publicly commented on the latest large-scale air assault on his hometown, which has become one of the most intense attacks involving numerous drones and missiles.

According to him, dozens of unmanned aerial vehicles and rockets were launched over Kryvyi Rih, causing significant destruction to civilian infrastructure, including vital city facilities.

Zelensky emphasized that this attack clearly demonstrates Russia’s ongoing systematic terror, as it continues targeted strikes across Ukraine even amid international negotiations and internal crises.

He pointed out that the majority of enemy targets now are energy and transportation infrastructure, deliberately destroyed to escalate military pressure.

President Zelensky highlights Russia’s multi-vector approach, conducting simultaneous strikes on strategic sectors like energy and railways to weaken Ukraine and increase its vulnerability.

He stressed the importance of every air defense system to save lives and bring Ukraine closer to victory.

Each additional system or resource that enhances Ukraine’s defenses is a step toward ending the war.

Ensuring security depends on honoring agreements, especially those made in Washington and at the international level.

Zelensky also mentioned that after a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, U.S.

officials hinted that America does not plan to supply Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles, raising questions about further strengthening Ukraine’s military capabilities.
