Chas Pravdy - 17 October 2025 07:23

In the city of Sochi, located on the Russian Black Sea coast, a series of extraordinary events occurred amid reports of potential military strikes.

On the night of October 17, loud explosions rocked this popular resort city, causing residents and tourists to tremble with fear.

According to local authorities, the air defense system (PVO) successfully repelled several drone and missile attacks.

It is known that in various regions of Russia, flight restrictions were imposed in nine airports, including Sochi, Krasnodar, Samara, Kaluga, and others.

Mayor Andriy Proshunin reported that around 3 a.m., the air defense system started intercepting drone attacks, and by 5 a.m., reports of missile strikes emerged.

Residents and visitors were urged to stay calm, follow safety protocols, and avoid going outside, especially those living near the coast.

Official sources also called on citizens not to post videos or images of the PVO operations or debris from downed targets on social media to prevent panic.

This incident once again highlights the increasing tensions in the region and its vulnerability to new attacks.
