Chas Pravdy - 17 October 2025 11:42

At the age of 74, the world bid farewell to a legendary musician and founding member of the iconic rock band KISS — Ace Frehley.

His death was confirmed by family members, who stated that he peacefully left this world surrounded by loved ones.

They fondly recalled that in his final moments, those closest to him were by his side, offering love, care, and prayers.

The family released a heartfelt statement emphasizing that they cherish the best memories, laughter, and kindness that Ace brought into people’s lives over the years.

According to reports from ABC News and TMZ, the cause of death was a brain hemorrhage resulting from a fall in the studio several weeks prior, leading to his hospitalization.

He remained on ventilator support until his family made the difficult decision to disconnect him.

Born Paul Daniel Frehley, he was one of the founding members of KISS since 1973, alongside Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, and Peter Criss.

Known for his stage personas — Spaceman and Space Ace — he became one of the most recognizable figures in rock history.

Following his passing, colleagues expressed their condolences, highlighting his significant contribution to the band’s legacy.

Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons described him as an integral part of the group’s story, and his influence will forever be embedded in KISS’s history.

Ace Frehley’s musical career also included the creation of his solo projects and the band Frehley’s Comet, active during the 1980s, as well as a series of solo albums.

His latest album, ‘10,000 Volts,’ was released in 2024.

Recently, he canceled scheduled concerts for 2025 due to health issues.

In 2014, Frehley, along with other KISS members, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

His impact on rock music remains immeasurable, with his legacy inspiring future generations of musicians and fans worldwide.
