Ukrainian Forces Secure Strategic Positions in the South, Repelling Russian Counterattacks
Near the city of Orihiv, Ukrainian troops continue their counteroffensive after liberating several villages in the area.
On this front, Ukrainian assault units launched an active offensive operation, resulting in the liberation of multiple settlements.
A significant role in the liberation of the village Mali Shcherbaki was played by the ‘Aidar’ battalion, as reported live on Army TV by officer Ivan Zadontsev.
He noted that during the assault, Ukrainian soldiers extensively used quad bikes, enabling quick and unexpected movements that caught the enemy during their rotation.
Currently, Ukrainian defenders are repelling attempts by Russian forces to counterattack and reclaim lost positions.
The situation is particularly tense on the Lyman front, where a drone war is ongoing: Ukrainian forces are attacking logistics targets with drones, and ground robotic complexes are being deployed.
After raising the Ukrainian flag in the village, enemy forces resumed active assault actions, transferring reserves and attempting by all means to regain control of the territory.
The tactics of the Russian side remain classic — small assault groups supported by artillery and drones operate in waves.
According to Sergeant Serhiy Okishev from the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the DShV, Ukrainian FPV drones are already destroying targets deep in enemy rear at distances exceeding 40 kilometers, which causes the enemy to avoid using their equipment as it is effectively destroyed by our drones and artillery.
