Emergency power outages implemented in southern and eastern Ukraine due to missile strikes and radiation threat
On the morning of October 15, several regions in Ukraine experienced emergency electricity blackouts amid large-scale missile attacks and damages to the energy infrastructure caused by Russian strikes.
In Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, and Poltava regions, energy companies and the Ukrainian National Energy Company “Ukrenergo” activated emergency outage schedules to prevent system collapse and maintain electricity supply stability.
DTEK representatives informed that emergency measures are already being applied in the region and promised to communicate any updates promptly via their official Telegram channels.
The “Poltavaoblenergo” website states that restrictions were introduced due to the consequences of recent missile attacks on energy facilities, and no additional scheduled outages are currently forecasted.
Meanwhile, in Kirovohrad region, officials indicated that both emergency and scheduled outages might be introduced simultaneously to control the situation and prevent larger disruptions.
Authorities and energy companies continue efforts to restore stable system operation and warn about possible temporary restrictions due to ongoing risks and the need to respond to new attacks from Russia.
