Zelensky expresses optimism about Trump’s success in ending Gaza war and its potential impact on Ukraine
President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that U.S.
President Donald Trump managed to take critical steps to end the conflict in the Middle East, particularly in Gaza, and believes that similar approaches could help resolve the situation in Ukraine.
In his Telegram address, Zelensky emphasized that as the conflict in the region gradually subsides, it is essential to maintain momentum toward spreading peace.
He stated that ending the war in Europe is entirely possible with active support from the United States and other partners, and Trump’s success in achieving peace in Gaza shows a possible path for resolving the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
Zelensky also mentioned discussing this matter with Finnish President Sauli Niinistö and highlighted the need to strengthen air defense systems due to recent Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
