Dynamo newcomer, after scandal over pro-Russian posts, supports Ukraine by donating first salary to the Armed Forces
Vladislav Blinuče, a recent addition to Kyiv’s Dynamo football club, found himself at the center of a controversy due to his pro-Russian social media posts.
However, in a surprising move, the player demonstrated his support for Ukraine’s military by donating his first paycheck to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Following social media posts that included reposts of videos featuring Russian propagandists and supportive content towards Russia, Blinuče issued an official statement in Ukrainian expressing pride in playing for Ukraine and wishing the country victory in the ongoing war.
His decision to send his entire first salary to the military was made during a break at training camp, as confirmed by Kristian Bilovert in an interview with the YouTube channel «Denis Boyko».
Despite the initial backlash from fans, especially from Dynamo ultras who threw flares onto the bench of the team, Blinuče’s act was seen as a sincere gesture of patriotism.
This move not only clarified his stance but also highlighted the divisions and tensions within Ukrainian football circles around issues of loyalty and national identity.
