Trump and Zelensky Discuss the Supply of Tomahawk Missiles to Ukraine

Chas Pravdy - 13 October 2025 11:17

On Sunday, the second phone conversation in two days took place between Presidents Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky, lasting approximately 40 minutes.

The main topic of discussion was the potential transfer of long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles from NATO countries to Ukraine, which would strengthen Kyiv’s defense capabilities amid ongoing conflict.

Sources reported that during the call, leaders examined the number of missiles needed, their intended use, and the broader context of military support to Ukraine.

They also discussed Ukraine’s energy situation ahead of winter and air defense systems, particularly the Patriot system.

Notably, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and other officials participated in the conversation.

Trump confirmed plans to discuss missile supplies with Vladimir Putin, while Zelensky emphasized that the use of long-range weapons should aim to weaken Russia’s ability to continue the war.

He also stated that if transferred, Tomahawk missiles would be used solely against military targets in Russia.
